The British business magnate Sir Richard Branson is known fir his vast investment portfolio. Since he founded the Virgin Group in 1970s, today he controls more than 400 companies in various fields. Among one of his latest ventures is a unique Palace or Kasbah in Tamadot in Morocco. The Kasbah has been named Best Resort Hotel in North Africa and the Middle East at the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021.

The owner of the famous Necker Island is known for his love of travel and exploration. However, he is known to prefer his own properties. This time, Branson while visiting Morocco is staying at Kasbah Tamadot. That resort, its website explains, sits just at the base of the Atlas Mountains.

The Kasbah was once the home of renowned antique dealer and interior designer Luciano Tempo. Later transformed into a luxury oasis by Sir Richard Branson when he bought Kasbah Tamadot in 1998. The resort received its first guests in 2005. The Kasbah comes with 28 rooms, each having been individually decorated.

“I have spent the last few days in Morocco and have been struck by how special the country is in the winter months,” Branson shared in a new blg post. “Every single day I’ve been here has felt like a summer day back in Britain and most days are like that even in the middle of winter.”

Branson said the place was ideal for those who sought relaxation. “Enjoy the fresh mountain air as you wander around our beautiful gardens, or go on a trek through the High Atlas Mountains,” he said.

The resort employs all of its staff from the local Amazigh speaking village. According to its website, the Eve Branson Foundation offers many opportunities for young people and women in the area.
