Hakimi Faces Rape Allegations in France

Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain defender, participated in training with his fellow teammates on Friday, despite having been indicted for rape charges the previous day. The French prosecutors have disclosed that they questioned him on Thursday, as part of their investigation into the accusations made by a 24-year-old woman, who claims that the Moroccan footballer raped her at his Paris suburban home on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Hakimi, who is married, has been indicted by an investigating judge and placed under judicial supervision. However, he has denied the allegations, and it should be noted that being charged under French law does not necessarily mean that the case will proceed to trial. Although Paris Saint-Germain has yet to comment on the charges against Hakimi, the team is set to play Nantes on Saturday and then travel to Germany to face Bayern Munich next Wednesday.

It remains uncertain whether Hakimi will play in either game, but he is permitted to leave France despite the charge against him. Nevertheless, the Madrid-born footballer played a significant role in Morocco’s memorable run during last year’s World Cup.
