Morocco in top 10 countries for meme coin interest

According to a Q2 2023 analysis by CoinGecko, Morocco ranks among the top ten countries in the world in terms of meme coin interest. CoinGecko analyzed the total number of page views for the top 15 meme coins by market capitalization year-to-date in early May 2023. The United States and the United Kingdom lead the meme coin craze, followed by India and the Philippines. Nigeria and Morocco are the only two African countries in the top ten, ranking fifth and tenth, respectively.

In Morocco, Dogecoin generated 61.1% of meme coin interest, making it the most popular meme coin in the country. Meanwhile, in Nigeria, Floki and ArbDoge AI captured the highest interest at 24.2% and 20.8%, respectively. The United States leads the meme coin craze, accounting for 23.6% of the interest in 2023 so far, with Shiba Inu generating the highest interest among meme coins.
