Morocco ranks 11th in the world

Morocco is ranked 11th in the world in the latest FIFA Men’s Rankings.

As of January 2023, Morocco tops the list of African teams, while Senegal is second at 19th spot, and Tunisia 3rd at 30th spot in the world. Algeria is ranked 40th and Libya at 120th in the list.

This ranking reflects the performance of the Atlas Lions at the world cup in Qatar having qualified to the semi finals for the first time for an African team.

In the past years, Morocco has performed well in the Africa Cup of Nations, having won the tournament once in 1976, and reached the final of the tournament in 2004, 2018. Also they have qualified for the world cup five times in 1986, 1994, 2018 and 2022
