Morocco and WHO sign cooperation strategy for 2023-27

To commemorate World Health Day 2023, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and WHO office in Morocco organized a ceremony to present and sign the Morocco-WHO cooperation strategy for 2023-2027.

The World Health Day 2023, observed on 7th April, marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of WHO. The theme for this year is “Health for All”, which provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in public health over the past seven decades and to call for action to address current and future health challenges.

The cooperation framework focuses on strengthening the national health system, enhancing its resilience, improving governance, and promoting health equity.

The ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, who urged Morocco to continue its South-South collaboration and to play a leading role in global health.

The event concluded with the presentation of an award to acknowledge the exemplary cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and WHO, and Morocco’s commitment to improving the health of its population.
